Material Certifications
Awoo is committed to ethically producing high-quality pet essentials made using third party certified, low-impact materials. From sourcing eco-friendly materials to collaborating with responsible manufacturing partners, we prioritize the well-being of our furry friends and the world they roam.
- Recycled Polyester uses 59% less energy to produce than virgin materials and diverts plastic that is destined for landfills giving them a 2nd life.
- Recycled Polyester is made by processing existing post-consumer plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fiber.
- Organic cotton fiber uses less energy, releases fewer greenhouse gases and does not add harmful toxins to the soil and waterways through the use of harmful pesticides.
- Organic Cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides and due to the improved soil quality, uses significantly less water than regular cotton.
- Awoo’s Organic Felt Wool is biodegradable, renewable & handcrafted by a female artisans at a goodweave-certified factory.
- The Responsible Wool Standard ensures the welfare of the sheep, the quality of the land they graze, & humane shearing.
- Unlike plastic, Silicone is BPA-& PVC-free. It is chemically stable meaning it does not shed micro plastics or release harmful toxins during degradation.
- Silicone is produced from naturally forming silica combined with man made silicon. The production process is considered low-waste due to exact molding.
- Natural Brass is an anti-corrosive metal that doesn't need chemical plating treatments to highlight its beauty. Chemically untreated brass involves less water-intensive processes in comparison to chemically treated brass making it a better environmental option.
- Brass is meant to last. It may patina over time due but can be quickly polished and clean back its original shine. At the end of its lifecycle, Natural Brass can be easily recycled and melted down for reuse, contributing to cyclical manufacturing practices.
